Orange county court coronavirus reopening

Orange county court coronavirus reopening

Have you been waiting to proceed with a family court matter due to the shutdown for the coronavirus pandemic? Well, the courts are reopening on May 26, 2020! Here are some things to know about the reopening:

  1. May 26, 2020 is the planned date of the reopening. This could change if circumstances arise or new cases of the virus spike, but that is that date of the planned reopening.
  2. You will need to wear a mask to visit the Court. As part of reopening, the Court will be strictly enforcing health protocols. “The use of facemasks or face coverings is mandatory for anyone entering a courthouse. Social distancing rules will also be strictly enforced in all facilities, thus the number of individuals entering public courtrooms and elevators will be subject to space limitations. Persons displaying possible coronavirus symptoms will not be allowed in court facilities.”
  3. The court system is likely to be busy and overbooked. China saw a major divorce boom after the epidemic passed through cities, and Southern California will no doubt experience a similar surge. You can contact us now at 949-363-5551 to get ahead of the inevitable rush if you know you are ready to move forward. We can meet with you via videoconferencing if desired and even accept payments over the phone.
